New website and e-commerce

Folkspel took a strategic decision to gather all their public websites as well as administrative tools for their resellers on one platform and domain, folkspel.se. This enabled Folkspel to further digitalize their business by providing a digital lottery store for all their products. This was also a prerequisite for the launch of their new, fully digital, lottery called Joyna.

Our role in the project was to design the new online experience based on the needs of the users, business requirements and technical possibilities. The implementation of the new website was done in collaboration with a team from Folkspel, Itiden and Digital fans.

Iconography

We created custom icons in order to gain brand recognition regardless of which product the customer comes in contact with. The icons themselves are identical for all products but the color theme is set to match them individually.

This solution made it possible for Folkspel’s core brand to be present even on a product level, which is something they struggled with before.

As part of this project we developed a completely new design system for Folkspel. This was crucial to be able to merge the identities of Folkspel and the sub-brands of their products in an efficient manner. The result is a consistent and well thought through toolbox of components and modules that makes it easy to maintain and scale the website as well as rapid development other digital products going forward.

An essential function of the new website is the integrated webshop that enables the visitors to buy lottery tickets in several ways on the website. They can either browse the new lottery store or buy directly from each product page. Since there are products that can be bought both as single purchases and as a subscription we spent a lot of attention to the checkout flow to make sure that it is easy to understand, something we knew would be important for our main target audience.

A big part of Folkspel’s sales are done by associations as a source of income to finance their activities. The new website has new set of tools to accommodate this. Both behind the scenes for administrators as well as for those who does the leg work and sells the lottery tickets, which now can be done through a personalized webshop.
